The lithography process begins after artwork and coating colors have been approved(see Customer Service for artwork and color approval process). The Warren facility provides high-quality printing and coating services in a relatively short amount of time due to a highly specialized and dedicated workforce. Seventy percent of the employees at Warren have over ten years experience. This know-how is used to produce a first-class, attractive product for our customers.

Warren operates five lines: two dedicated to coating, two dedicated to printing, and one that alternates depending on demand. The coating application provides functionality, whether it is for rust prevention, product resistance, or color.

The press lines print the decorative images with ink, sometimes applying multiple colors simultaneously. The warehouse in Warren stores over 100 different types of inks/coatings, and with the base ink system, can mix ink on-site to match thousands of different colors.

The additional pennies to apply custom colors or print artwork are a prudent investment that transforms a generic cap into advertising and creates a new product package. The addition of your colors, logo, or graphics separates your product from the competition.

Whether it is a custom color or a brand new six-color design, Customer Service will help bring a new closure design from the drawing board to the production phase. P-WC Customer Service can send, via email, drawings of closures for artwork layout, design or printing limits.

New closures always begin with color. Ideally, the customer submits a PMS color match number or a specific color sample for their new design. Once received, the coating and printing operations necessary to achieve the desired results is determined. The base coat, usually white or gold, is the first step in determining the final appearance and color of the cap. The subsequent prints will create the specific colors and customer product identification. Send the color or artwork needed to your Customer Service contact to get the project rolling.

The color match process takes approximately 10 business days. New artwork can be processed during color matching. Artwork can be sent via electronic file (contact us to discuss compatible formats) or on paper. Please make sure to note the size closure and specific top-style requested. Time, cost and errors have been cut by the use of emailing files of the artwork forPrinted sheets ready to be made into caps initial sign-off. After sign-off is received, three final color separation booklets will be forwarded for approval.

Average production time for closure after approved artwork and/or color approvals are received by P-WC is 4 to 6 weeks. Orders can only be started after the final artwork and/or color match approvals are returned, and a purchase order is received at P-WC.
